Family members and friends caring for elderly people find it hard to spend enough time looking after them. What are the causes of this problem? What solutions can you suggest? It has been argued that younger generations do not have enough time to look after elderly people. One of the main reasons is the economic situation, which has many solutions. In this essay, I will examine that reason and give some solutions. Lack of time to take care of the elderly has numerous reasons. One of the main reasons is financial issues. To clarify, these days residents from different countries struggle with economic downturns, and unfortunately, the elderly's medical treatments are extremely expensive. So, younger generations have to work more than in the past. For instance, in developing countries such as Iran, many adults have second jobs to fulfill their family and elderly basic needs. As a result, they do not have enough time to look after elderly people. Ultimately, the economic situation negatively impacts people's lives. Lack of time has various solutions. One of the main solutions is that governments can help the elderly to minimize their problems. In other words, governments can significantly reduce the elderly's tax, and medical treatments can become free for people over 60 years old. In addition, governments can decrease the work shifts of younger generations who look after elderly people. For example, in European countries such as the Netherlands, medical treatments are free for elderly residents. Therefore, governments can positively affect the elderly's lives. In conclusion, economic issues can cause young generations to lack enough time to take care of the elderly, and this problem can be addressed with government help.
